Once Upon a Tree
Our Zebulon Baptist Church Choir will sing at Meymandi Concert Hall with 265 other voices and an orchestra on Sunday evening, April 6. We will present the Easter musical, Once Upon a Tree, written and directed by Pepper Choplin. Before the musical begins, the audience is invited to sing hymns with the choir and orchestra. Tickets are available at the church office or with Barbara Glasgow. A $15 donation is appreciated. Students (high school and younger) are free.
Please remember the bag policy at Meymandi: All bags are subject to search and must meet size requirements. A small clutch or wallet is recommended and no bags larger than 12” x 12” x 10” will be allowed (this includes backpacks, camera bags and oversized purses). *Diaper bags are allowed for guests with infants and toddlers (child must be present).

Choir Performances and Easter Egg Hunt
The Music Mates, the Cherub Choir and the Junior Choir will sing in the sanctuary, with an egg-tastic Easter egg hunt to follow.

Holy Week Lunch and Devotional
Join us in our Fellowship Hall for a meaningful time of meditation, followed by a luncheon.

Maundy Thursday Service
On the Thursday of Holy Week, we gather to remember the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples, and then transition to a time of darkness (tenebrae) to reflect on Jesus’ betrayal, arrest, humiliation and crucifixion.

Good Friday Prayer Event
Enter our sanctuary on Good Friday to pray, reflect, meditate and commune with God. You are welcome to use our prayer guide or simply pray as you need to.

ZBCY Spring Lock In
The ZBCY "Made New" Spring Lock In is Friday, April 18, from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Youth will need to bring $15 for late night bowling and around $10 for a meal off campus. Sign up by Sunday, April 13, by going to the link below.

Young Adult Lunch Outing
The Young Adults will have lunch together at Norse Brewing Longhouse, 120 N. Arendell Ave, immediately following worship.

Vacation Bible School
Come join us this summer June 30-July 3 from 9 a.m.-noon for Vacation Bible School. Classes will be available for rising kindergarteners to rising eighth-graders.
This year, we will take kids on the ultimate Alaskan adventure. As they trek the tundra, they’ll discover how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Guiding them toward Jesus, True North VBS reveals that He is a faithful friend we can always trust. He’s our True North!

ZBCY 2025 Mission Trip
The youth in 10th-12th grade will have a chance to participate in the youth mission trip next summer. We will be going to Cultivate Abundance in Immokalee, Florida, July 20-28, 2025, and partnering with CBF Field Personnel, Ellen and Rick Burnette.
Cultivate Abundance is an organization addressing food insecurity and other livelihood challenges of low-income farmers in the communities of Southwest Florida.
Their mission is to mobilize appropriate resources to eliminate hunger and enable small-scale food production in vulnerable households and communities. Our youth will be preparing for this mission trip throughout the year with team meetings and then plugging into Cultivate Abundances’ mission projects once we arrive next summer.
Our 3rd team meeting will be Sunday, April 13, at 4:00 in the Blue Room.

Spring Senior Adult Rally
Our Senior Adults will be attending the rally at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, leaving ZBC at 9 a.m. You must have already pre-registered with Barbara Glasgow to attend. Lunch will be served.

Senior Adult Lunch Trip
Let’s try this again! Our Senior Adults will travel for lunch to Something Different in Wilson on Thursday, March 20. We will leave the church at 11 a.m. Please let Barbara Glasgow know by Sunday, March 16, if you will be traveling with the group to enjoy a delicious meal and fellowship at Something Different.

Young Adults Gathering
We invite anyone between the ages of 23 and 34-ish to join us on Tuesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. at the Bearded Bee for Musical Bingo. You are welcome to bring your dinner in with you. CBFNC's Children's Mission Day
Attention 3rd-5th graders: CBFNC's Children's Missions Day is Saturday, March 15 at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh. The day will include a mission project, fun Bible study activities, recreation, and ice cream! You will need to bring a packed lunch. Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the start of the season of Lent, when we symbolically walk with Jesus on his journey toward his crucifixion and resurrection, contemplating our own need for mercy and salvation. For centuries, Christians have gathered on Ash Wednesday to receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads as a symbol of repentance. Join us in our sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, as we begin our Lenten journeys.

Grief Support Group
During the month of March, Sundays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Parlor
Grief is a part of living. Grief reminds us that we have loved and have been loved, and grief is hard. Grief is not a linear timeline and it does not have to be experienced in solitude. If you are grieving and desire to gather with others for support and a space to move forward with your grief, we welcome you to join us for our Grief Support Group, led by Associate Pastor Melissa Willis. Sunday, March 2, the youth will be leading in Sunday School and morning worship. We will start the day with breakfast in the Blue Room at 8:00 before going to our classrooms to lead in Sunday School. Those that are leading in worship will need to meet in the choir room after teaching Sunday School. After worship we will enjoy lunch together in the Fellowship Hall. This has been a long tradition at ZBC and we are looking forward to the ways our youth will show their leadership.

Segue Youth Choir Festival
The Segue Youth Choir Festival will be on Saturday, March 1, at 5 p.m. at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh. All are welcome to this free youth choir worship concert!

Senior Adult Valentine's Pizza Party
Our Senior Adults will enjoy a Valentine Lunch on Monday, Feb. 10. We will have pizza and salad for lunch and sweets for dessert. After lunch, we will have a time of games and fun and a short devotional from Nathaniel Horton.

Juniors Trip to Urban Air
Juniors will be going to Urban Air in Raleigh on Friday, Jan. 31. We will leave ZBC at 5 p.m. and return at 9:30 p.m. Please sign up via the link below. The ZBCY will go to the Old Greer House in Banner Elk, NC for the Winter Retreat from January 31 - February 2.
The cost of the weekend is $200 which includes lodging, tubing experience, and retreat shirt. Sign up and $100 deposit due by this Wednesday, December 11.

This Advent season, the youth will perform three shows of the Live Nativity on Sunday, December 22. We will need many participants to help these shows be a success! We will practice that afternoon before the shows.
The shows will take place at 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00. Please see Lauren with any questions.

Rudy Theatre
On Monday, December 16, our Senior Adults are invited to join our outing to Rudy Theatre in Selma, NC. We will enjoy their wonderful Christmas music and the comedian Cletus Chickpin. We will leave the church at 12:00 Pm and the show starts at 12:45. The tickets cost $30.00 per person. There is a limited number of ticket, so please sign up and buy your tickets early!!

Joy Gift Service
Come hear all of our graded choirs sing their Christmas songs and present our gifts for our Christmas Benevolence families. Parents will also get to enjoy a Parent’s Sermon in the place of our Children’s Sermon on this night. It is a night sure to lift your Christmas spirit.

Christmas Musical
The title of this year’s Christmas Musical is This Is Christmas by Mary McDonald, orchestrated by Ed Hogan. You and your loved ones are invited to come and hear our wonderful Sanctuary Choir and special guest musicians as they prepare our hearts for the coming of the Christ-child.

Advent Wreath Workshop
December 1 is the first day of Advent. We hope your family will return to the ZBC Fellowship Hall at 3:00pm to enjoy a time of fellowship while crafting your very own Advent Wreath. You can also receive our Advent Devotional, containing meditations lovingly written by our ministers and members, to use with your wreath throughout the season. Just bring your loved ones, a pair of pruning shears, and perhaps some holiday spirit!

Thanksgiving Service
As we prepare to gather with loved ones for our Thanksgiving Holiday, it is appropriate that we gather together as a church to give thanks for God’s abundant blessings. We hope your family will join us for a special worship service Tuesday, November 26 at 7:00pm in our sanctuary.
Our Thanksgiving Service is experiential. During this service you will be invited to travel among a variety of stations around our sanctuary, and participate in small, creative expressions of worship. Our goal is to draw nearer to God through every small, sacred act.


ZBC Homecoming
It has been a while since our last Homecoming! We hope you and your loved ones will join us for a very special worship service as we give thanks for God’s blessings on ZBC’s past, present and future.
Worship will begin at 10:15am in our sanctuary. At the conclusion of our service, we will honor our former pastor, Rev. Jack Glasgow, with the title of Pastor Emeritus.
Following worship, there will be a covered dish luncheon in our Fellowship Hall. ZBC will offer the fried chicken and beverages. You’re invited to bring your favorite dishes and/or desserts to share! You can drop off your dishes as early as 8:30am Sunday morning. Also, be sure to bring your own serving utensils as the church only has a limited amount. Finally, please label your dishes with your name and the contents, especially if they contain food allergins, such as nuts.
Veterans Day Luncheon
The youth of ZBC will be hosting a luncheon for the veterans and their families on Monday, November 11 at 12:00 noon in the Fellowship Hall. Sign up below if you would like to help celebrate and honor our veterans. We will need all youth helpers to arrive by 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall to begin prepping. You may also use the additional RSVP link to sign up veterans and their guests by November 6.
